Bengaluru

It has been three months since we moved to Bengaluru. I had never imagined living in this city, as I had always found it chaotic and unlivable, yet here we are. Life always has other plans.

We moved to Bengaluru in April 2024. After searching for places to live for a week, we selected a flat in Prestige Falcon City on Kanakpura Road. Many said Bengaluru South is not Bengaluru, the PFC has issues with water, and so on. Preeti and I loved the flat, and although the rent was higher than what we had ever paid, we decided to move in.

Living in a large society with all the possible amenities is well worth your pay. I do not do it often, but when I do go for a walk within the society, I absolutely love the breeze and the greenery that the maintenance money helps maintain. I loved the place so much that I almost decided to buy a flat, but then I saw the price and dropped the plans. Renting for the win!

The weather in Bengaluru is a different beast altogether. I had seen people speak about it endlessly and never understood why. Now I know why. It's the best a modern city has to offer in terms of weather. It's always pleasant. It can get a little gloomy, but for the most part, it's just wonderful to experience the cool, pleasant weather.

The traffic is dreadful, and I don't recommend it.

Everytime I get a chance I take the Metro and I LOVE it. Its efficient and economical and helps me walk and complete my rings on an Apple watch :) I've encouraged my wife to come along on the metro, but she chooses the comforts of a car, and I understand.

The quality of the outside food is excellent here, but there are too many options. I love the South Indian food options, especially Ravi Idly. It's a shame it's not available widely in other cities.

I love that Bengaluru is also a top destination for comics on their tours. I watched the Varun Grover and Vir Das shows in the same month!

I took Preeti and Mudra to Church Street yesterday, and they loved the buzz of that place. I like it, too, but there are too many people. I love how the same place has pubs, street food, vendors on the street, and a metro. It's like a place for everyone; nobody should be left behind.

I also moved to Bengaluru because of the network and with the hope that I could develop one. I have not done anything about it, but whenever I do, I know I can do it.

The experience of the first three months in Bengaluru makes it seem like a good decision. Let us see how the rest of the year pans out.
